Reign of the Supermen #229: Powerless Superboy

Type: TransformationAt the turn of the century, Superboy temporarily lost his powers, and instead of throwing in the heroic towel and singing "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" with a smile on his face (my references are getting olllllllld), he reinvents himself. It's good practice for a hero in the DC Universe.

For one thing, he first tries a black t-shirt on for size. The new Superboy also makes use of the people around him, adapting Cadmus technology to his war on evil, and getting a shield just like that of potential mentor, Captain America the Guardian. The shield also benefits from Flash costume technology.
AND his Legion flight right is hardwired into those bracelets.

Superboy was re-energized within 4 issues, but I still do miss that spring-loaded shield. I dunno. Seems like something even a powered Superboy could use. Maybe when he needs to re-invent himself again, which always seems sooner than later...
